When we visited them on 24 July 2020, we were told that they had been MUIS Halal certified for about two weeks. Finally we can have a go at the well-raved chicken rice which started in 2018! As we took our seats in the restaurant, we simply love how they highlighted their theme which is nostalgia. It resonated well for a brand with rich history which first started in 1960. Btw we visited the one at VivoCity, 1 Harbourfront Walk, #B2-30, Singapore 098585.
If you didn’t know, Go-Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice was mentioned in Michelin Bib Gourmand guide — you can only expect carefully sliced chicken with aromatic taste of garlic.

Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam was established in 1960 by Mr Sombat Pruekpaiboon, nickname Go-Ang also known as 红大哥, who specialises in Hainanese chicken rice or ‘Kaomunkai’.

We tried their elegantly cut and perfectly plated Michelin Star Chicken Rice and they were very moist and tender! Rice were soft and fragrant. The aromatic broth was hot and probably least talked about – a show stopper. This Thai-style Hainanese chicken rice certainly hit the right spots.
Along with it, we also ordered Dry Chicken Noodle which was equally good! Noodles have been a staple food and having it here was no excuse. It was soft and moist – almost butter-liked. Another must-try when you’re here!
